Part One: An Introduction to Technology Planning provides an overview of why we engage in technology planning, required components of the technology plan, an overview of the approval process, and key due dates. Part Two: Constructing a Strategic Technology Plan assistsdistrict-level technology leaders in actually developing a high-quality plan. In-depth definitions and examples for each of Georgia's required technology plan components and suggestions on how to design and manage an collaborative, democratic technology planning process are provided.

  • This course, assists school district technology leaders in constructing high-quality technology plans that will meet criteria established by federal and state policies. The technology planning components required by the Georgia Department of Education are explained in detail and examples are provided. Areas where technology planning is historically weak are highlighted in the course. The course also provides information and ideas on how to strengthen these weaknesses and to manage a collaborative, democratic process that will maximize the benefits of technology planning in local school districts.
